This week, I decided to try something fun as a way to practice my sketching and rendering. I decided to make some tiny, unusual houses that might be found tucked away in some corner of the world. These are my first three sketches, done in pencil, watercolor pencil, and pen:
Light House:
Hillside House:
In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort.
Vertical apartment for some post-apocalyptic urban slum of the future:
I’m not sure yet if this is going anywhere, but I’ll try to keep making some more of these.
Just came across your blog. Nice work. Great to see some sketch book images. Particularly like the lighthouse section and introduction of watercolour. Keep it up!
