My writing productivity has been slow lately, and for that I apologize. I’ve been doing quite a bit of thinking about this blog and how to make it better, and that has paradoxically made me worse at posting because my attention has been elsewhere. In the meantime, you may want to take a look at Flickr, where I’ve been uploading lots of photos. And expect some news and changes over the next few weeks as I figure out where I want to take this blog.
As for real life, I’m back in Mississippi after a great holiday in Virginia. After a delay in its posting, I was finally able to fill out the application for a full-time position as Intern Architect with the GCCDS. That’s the first step in getting the job, and if all goes well I should be on the payroll by February 1. The job description is the same as before, but I’m sure the projects will be different and I’m looking forward to getting to work on some new and exciting things.
Christmas was good; of the presents, so far, I’ve gotten the most mileage out of the three seasons of The West Wing, but I’ve also begun Thomas Friedman’s book on globalization, The World Is Flat. The bad movies continue apace, and we occasionally sneak in a good one; tonight, in fact, we formed a gathering of nerds to watch ‘All Good Things…’, the classic Star Trek Next Generation finale. Yes: life seems, at times, overwhelmingly full of good things.
Thanks for your patience with my slow posting; again, expect some changes soon, and please send me suggestions for things you’d like to see in the space! Also, my friend Abbie has started a blog, Simple Harmonics, Transmitted Reflections, so head over and check that out.
Thanks for the shout-out! 🙂
