Dew Drop Inn

The Dew Drop Inn is a landmark in Central City, New Orleans. Now vacant, in its prime it held a hotel, a barbershop, and a prominent nightclub where icons like Ray Charles played. To beautify the building and generate awareness and interest while its owners raise money for a major renovation, the Tulane City Center designed a large temporary art installation for the facade of the Dew Drop.

Project credits: John Stubbs (research), Melissa Erekson (grantwriting), Giovanna Galfione-Cox and Scott Mikawa (conceptual design), Vincent Baudoin and Nick Jenisch (design and project management), Allison Price, Alisha Croft, Aurora Smith, Braham Berg, P.J. Henseler, Rosemary Phillips, Kate Kenwright, Michelle Brenner, J.D. Scott, and John Coyle (volunteers).
